Interfleet offers a wide range of specialist
railway consultancy skills, each headed by a Principal Consultant
or Principal Engineer, with many years experience in their specialist
discipline:
Asset Optimisation
Interfleet offers an extensive range of Asset Optimisation services,
including Life Cycle Costing, Failure Impact Reduction, Reliability
Centred Maintenance and Maintenance Strategy, The Asset Optimisation
team is led by our Principal Engineer Rebeka Sellick, a Chartered
mechanical/electrical engineer with many years' experience in her
field. Rebeka has led many high-profile international assignments,
including reliability and maintenance improvement studies, benchmarking
of international best-practise and maintenance depot/plant design.
Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering team is led by Chartered Electrical
Engineer Andrew McDonald. He has extensive experience in all areas
of electrical and electronic engineering on railway vehicles, with
particular knowledge of the design, development, procurement and
maintenance of Auxiliary electrical systems and Data/Audio Communications
equipment. Andrew also has extensive skills in undertaking feasibility
studies, investigations and developing business/engineering specifications.
Freight
Interfleet's freight capabilities are led by Principal Freight
Consultant Frank Alcock, a mechanical engineer with many years experience
of the design and maintenance of freight locomotives and freight
vehicles. Frank has a wide knowledge and understanding of freight
vehicle fleet engineering and operational requirements, together
with skills in development of freight maintenance strategies. He
also has considerable experience in the management of freight operations
and maintenance depots.
Industrial Design
A qualified Industrial Design Engineer and a Fellow of the Chartered
Society of Designers, Luis Chomiak heads up Interfleet's Industrial
Design team. Luis has led a wide variety of design projects world-wide,
encompassing all types of rail vehicles, working with a range of
international organisations, including Bombardier, Breda, Eurostar,
Firema, and Pininfarina.
Infrastructure
Interfleet's Infrastructure team is led by Principal
Infrastructure Engineer John Rastall, a chartered civil engineer and
experienced project manager. John has extensive experience of leading
multi-disciplinary rail projects in many countries throughout Asia
and the UK and a wide knowledge of the design and maintenance of infrastructure
disciplines.
Mechanical Components
A qualified mechanical engineer with many years' rail industry
experience, Principal Engineer Kerry Schofield leads Interfleet's
Mechanical Components team. Kerry's extensive knowledge encompasses
braking systems, wheelslide protection, gearboxes and other key
mechanical systems, together with project managing and testing skills.
Mechanical Systems
Chartered Mechanical Engineer Kevin Crofts leads Interfleet's Mechanical
Structures team. Kevin has extensive knowledge of the design, development,
procurement and repair of all types of rail vehicle structures,
including aluminium and steel bodies, component mountings, bogies
(trucks), wheels and axles. He has particular skills in structural
proof, fatigue and crashworthiness issues for all vehicle types
and has led many investigations into the cause of railway accidents
and component failures.
On Train Systems
Interfleet's On Train Systems capabilities are led by experienced
Electronic Systems Engineer Chris Baker. With extensive skills in
project management, system design/integration, specification writing
and type-testing, Chris has been involved in a wide variety of systems
projects world-wide.
Procurement
A Chartered Mechanical Engineer, Principal Consultant
Ian Mylroi leads Interfleet's International Procurement team. Ian
has considerable experience in international rail vehicle procurement,
maintenance and operation. He has been involved with many major projects
word-wide, including developing maintenance & operations contracts
for a new Asian airport railway, advising the Australian government
on rail franchising and procurement of several new UK vehicle fleets
for train operators.
Projects
Interfleet's Projects team is led by Chartered Mechanical Engineer
Martin Ward, a project manager experienced in all aspects of major
rail project management, including commercial, engineering and financial
disciplines. Martin has been involved in managing refurbishment,
re-engineering and new-build projects, implementation of new technologies,
risk assessment and many other areas world-wide.
Safety & Approvals
Interfleet's Safety & Approvals skills include Audits, Engineering
Approvals, Railway Safety Cases and Vehicle Acceptance Services.
The team is led by experienced mechanical engineer Peter Erwin.
Peter's extensive experience includes leading audit teams to investigate
quality assurance and contractual issues, resident engineering inspection
for new-build/refurbishment projects and leading rail project-teams,
both within the UK and overseas.
Total Rail Systems
Chartered Engineer Graham Scott leads Interfleet's new Total Rail
Systems team, combining all of Interfleet's multi-faceted business,
engineering and technology skills to offer clients total solutions
to major rail projects. Graham's systems engineering skills have
been utilised by a wide range of strategic clients throughout the
international rail industry, including governments, finance-houses,
infrastructure owners, manufacturers and train operators.
Vehicle Engineering & Design
Principal Engineer Phil Hudson leads the Interfleet Vehicle Engineering
& Design team, with responsibility for management of many major
"turnkey" vehicle modification programmes, including the
£40 million fitment of the Train Protection & Warning
System (TWPS) safety system to the entire UK passenger vehicle fleet
(in conjunction with equipment supplier Redifon MEL). Phil has extensive
experience, including development of business & engineering
specifications, feasibility studies & technical specifications
and project management.
