On Train Systems Engineer
LOCATION: DERBY (travel in the UK and abroad)

Interfleet Technology is a leading business,
engineering and technology consultancy to the international rail industry.
It has a reputation within the rail industry for understanding what
technologies are available and how these can be applied to new and
existing rolling stock and infrastructure to the benefit of equipment
suppliers, train operating companies and train leasing companies.
Interfleet's role ranges from technical consultancy to full turnkey
projects. A new position has been identified to expand its On Train
Systems capability and enable the continued growth in this area to
be maintained.
The areas of particular interest are the following,
however by the nature of this role, new and exciting opportunities
of exploiting technology within the rail industry will be added
as new technology and requirements within the industry emerge:
Passenger Information Systems, CCTV, Electronic
Point of Sale, Smartcards, Passenger Entertainment Systems, Electronic
Seat Reservation Systems, Passenger Counting.
The position requires an engineer qualified to
degree standard preferably in electronics, who has experience of
a variety of electronic/electrical systems ideally on rolling stock
and is also enthusiastic about the challenge of applying modern
technology in the rail market.
The successful candidate will be required to
work closely with the Sales and Marketing Department to market and
obtain further work in the On Trains System area, involving making
presentations and preparing high quality proposals to potential
clients. This will require a person with a high degree of commercial
awareness and personal presentation skills to explain at the appropriate
level the technical and commercial issues appertaining to any particular
task with a client.
A self-starter, who is capable of working on
his/her own initiative to take ideas from concept through to delivering
a successful project to the client, is essential including the ability
to identify opportunities and exploit these.
